On the third day of IFA 2022 (opens in a new tab)we had the opportunity to meet and say hello to even more fabulous brands – including Swan.
Swan is an iconic British brand from the 1920s that designs stylish cookware and appliances with exceptional performance. Most of their collections are available in eclectic colors, including sky blue (our favorite), saturated red, soft green, traditional cream and contemporary black.
When we saw the Swan Retro Pump Espresso coffee machine, we were immediately drawn to the retro style, vintage inspired, beautiful design that could house some of the best coffee machines. A large pressure plate with a wide chrome casing inside the device is one of the first features you see. The eye then moves to the side to see the three buttons that control the size of the cup. There is also a milk frother for making latte foam, which can be seen just below the one-touch buttons.
You can buy it from Amazon (opens in a new tab) and other retailers from £ 108 ($ 124.32 / $ 182.58) which is one of the cheapest espresso coffee machines you can buy, and it’s one that if we were going to college / university we would take with us.
While we weren’t able to try out the coffee machine (it’s coming soon), we were impressed with how versatile it could be. It can do a lot more than an espresso. With 15 bars of pressure – the maximum amount you want to put on your espresso – you can enjoy lighter flavors such as cappuccino, latte and flat white.
The detachable milk tank and the milk frothing steamer allow you to prepare most coffee specialties. We believe that if you don’t feel like coffee, you can use the milk heating function to make delicious hot chocolate.
One feature we love is the adjustable drip tray. This is really handy with mugs and cups of various sizes that you may prefer. If you are a true coffee connoisseur, you will have a small espresso cup (espresso) and a taller glass latte dish. If you are not a coffee connoisseur, don’t worry: using your favorite mug, the coffee will be just as tasty.
Overall, we consider it to be one of the best coffee makers out there (opens in a new tab) for students leaving for or returning to studies for the first time. It may not be the cheapest espresso machine available, as you can buy a filter coffee machine for about half the price, but if you want to be able to make a latte, cappuccino or espresso with the touch of a button in style, then this one is the machine for you.
