Amazon has launched a redesign Amazon Photos An Android app that streamlines search and sharing – and makes one-handed operation less inconvenient.
Popular Alternative to Google Photoswhich offers subscribers unlimited high definition cloud photo storage, now has a more user-friendly interface and simplified icons for easy navigation. And the new UI finally removes one of the worst aspects of many cloud storage apps: endless scrolling through time.
According to Amazon, “you can use your thumb to search the photo gallery by objects, places or years. No more going back in time – everything is within your thumb’s reach.
What’s new in Amazon Photos?
An overdue facelift follows the company shortly after added Amazon Music to Prime to boost your Prime subscription package.
If the previous iteration had a problem, it was the outdated interface it inspired Google Photos offering nothing special. So improved UI/UX is top priority in Amazon update photo storage and sharing app.
The main photo gallery is undergoing the largest renovation. Accessing and managing galleries is now easier thanks to the filtering system located at the bottom of the screen for faster photo search.
At the top of the screen, users will now find a floating Smile icon that allows them to check their account settings, including automatic image saving and recognition, printing tools and remaining memory. It’s from here Fire on TV and Echo show owners will now upload photos to the TV as well. A paper plane has also been added which allows users to share photos and videos privately.
iOS users may have a vague sense of deja vu here; the new UI mirrors the version of the iPhone, released in January 2022. The updated Amazon Photos app for Android is available on Google Play and is now rolling out to existing users – although it has not yet reached all territories.
